Current status of colorectal cancer

Colorectal cancer (CRC) is one of the most common malignant tumors in China, with approximately 555,000 new cases, accounting for approximately 10% of all malignant tumors. Approximately 30% of colorectal cancer patients have already developed distant metastasis when diagnosed. The treatment of colorectal cancer is mainly surgical resection, supplemented by chemotherapy and radiotherapy. At present, as the efficacy of chemotherapy has entered a plateau period, molecular targeted therapy has become the main treatment for improving the prognosis of advanced colorectal cancer.
